Calling all Makers with 3D printers.

Here’s how you can help maker a real difference right here at home (while you’re stuck at yours).

As you’ve certainly heard by now, ventilators could be in short supply in our hospitals in a matter of days. Without a solution, our doctors could very easily find themselves in the same boat that Italy and Spain are in: Having to decide who gets a ventilator, and who dies.
Kevin Low of Gecko Robotics has designed two ventilator splitters that allow one ventilator to be used by two or four patients. The ICU teams at Rose Medical has put this design to the test and given it the green light. And yes, a single ventilator is strong enough to ventilate 4 patients simultaneously. This could increase the number of ventilators we have available in the state by a factor of 4.
Our goal is to harness the incredible manufacturing power of Colorado Makers to help save the lives of our friends and neighbors.

IS YOUR HOSPITAL IN NEED?

Shoot us an email and tell us who and where to send them. We’ve got your back.

PLEASE HELP

STEP 01

Download the files

DUAL SOLIDWORKS & .STL
QUAD SOLIDWORKS & .STL

Yes. They need both.

STEP 02

STEP 03

INSPECT AND CLEAN YOUR PRINTS

REMOVE ANY ZITS, BURRS, SEAMS, OR STRINGING TO MAKE SURE THEY’RE A CLEAN FIT AT THE HOSPITAL.

Remember, these are for human use. QC your parts for layer adhesion, strength, defects, and check your dimensions with a caliper.

Female (single side) inside diameter: 22.6mm
Male (double or quad side) outside diameter: 21.7mm

(Doesn’t have to be perfect. Some variation is ok)

STEP 04

Pack ’em up

PLA is brittle. Pack them as securely as you can to keep them from moving around in the box.

Write “VENTILATOR MANIFOLDS” prominently on the box.

And don’t worry, we’ve got distribution covered.

Print this important informational packet. Put it on top of your packing. It should be the first thing the hospital sees when they open it.

Feel free to add a personal note to show your appreciation for the folks on the front line risking their lives everyday to save ours.

STEP 05

SEND OR DELIVER IT

We’ve partnered with Project C.U.R.E to handle distribution. They have locations across the country that can direct your splitters to hospitals in need.

Any unused splitters will be packaged with the ventilators that Project C.U.R.E sends to third world countries. In many places, their issue isn’t not having enough ventilators – it’s not having enough available power to run more than one. For more info visit ProjectCure.org
